Internet Zensorship (IZe)

Hej, actually I wanted to write more about international politics. But we have elections this year coming up and therefore it is a lot going on in German politics lately. So I am going to talk about the Internet blockades, they are not only a topic in Germany at least.

The last few month the legislature tried to install a law to block web pages with child pornography. I already gave a short summery in another articel. The German law passed the Bundestag and the Bundesrat, our two chambers of legislative, and should have been signed this Friday by the Bundespräsident. Unlike Presidents or Primeminsters of other countrys he has only few rights. One of these few is, that he has to sign bills after they have been accepted by the Bundestag and Bundesrat in order to become law. But the new bill, which should be in order as of August the 1st, wasn’t signed, because it was not ready.

The secret conspiracy of the green firewall

With this post I like to mention something I noticed on this weekend. Don’t take it too seriouse though.

Because it is the year of the upcomming Bundestags election, all parties are throwing in their funny statements of what the will do now to protect and serve the people. For example a few weeks ago the German Federal Minister of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth Ursula von der Leyen initiated a bill to block child pornography for german internet users. Mrs. Minister, the proud owner of seven childs herself, came, out of a sudden, to the conclusion that the turnover for child pornography, in the internet and because of the internet, had spiked in the last years.

My way to world leadership

This “news” is already somewhat old, but I am eager to tell you, so I do it anyway. It was in the year 2008 and I was attending the meeting of the SPD-Ortsverein Dresden-Strießen. On this day, my future was going to change for ever. Like on every other day of my life… but hej you know what I mean. It was the day of to set up the candidate list for the upcoming election to the Dresden city council. Each party can set up a list with nine candidates per election district. My Ortsverein is in charge of two election districts. After filling the list with volunteer candidates there where two places left. I wasn’t sure to which city my future will lead me, so I didn’t volunteer. But the list had to be filled with people and as tough Parteisoldat and a bit convincing of my comrades I toke the place. After all it was just the ninth position.

A few weeks later, the local party conference had to approve the lists of all twelve voting districts and in addition to that the list of delegates for the Landtags election and the Bundestags election which are both to come in 2009 (on two different dates… wtf?). But after a long day and countless crosses on voting ballot paper I was finally confirmed as candidate. I got somewhat around 90% which was not that good in compare to the most other people, but I was in.

Unfortunately my fears came true. I had to leave Dresden in the spring of 2009 to start my internship at Honda Research Institute, which is located in Offenbach. Therefor I was not really able to help with the election campaign. The election day was the June, 7th and it was also the day of the election for the European Parliament and I was proud of seenig the draft of the ballot paper with my name on it.

But as we know now, it was a black day for social democracy and other left-wing parties all over in Europe. Not that bad for the SPD in the city council of Dresden cause we got 1% the CDU still gained 3.5% which is incredibly unbelievable when you take a look at their local “work”… By its absurdness only overrun by the result of the FDP which gained 5% (from 7% to 12%), a party whose clientele was accountable for the financial crisis… but hey why not vote for them, maybe they learned something from their doing? NO THEY DON’T!!! They would do it again and they will do it again…

But the most important result, of course, was my result. But that didn’t look that good too. Eventually I got 124 votes! which was the worst result for any candidate in my voting district, I believe it was even the worst for any SPD candidate. But hey, the good side is, I got 124 votes! How many could I get when I even fight for them?

So as conclusion I will say this. A new star is born and will rise up! maybe… ;). What will the future bring for me, will I gain the world leadership and bring a new age of peace and wealth upon mankind, will I lead the humanity in the abyss of dome and destruction or will nothing of this happen? We will see!
