Notice: The Godfather Trilogy

Yesterday I finished watching all three Godfather movies. I really like those Mafia-movies especially with Al Pachino and De Niro. In my opinion, De Niro is the better one. But I have to admit, that Al Pachino played a very nice Godfather Michael Corleone over all 3 parts. James Caan who played the Sonny Corleone in the first part was also really nice. I am  a bit sorry that he died in the first part. James Caan played later in the TV-show “Las Vegas” a character that is in his behavior somewhat similar to Sonny. And of cause the acting of Marlon Brando as Don Vito Corleone was great: “I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse”. Also the scene with the horse head, you have to see this. I never really like the character of Kay Adamas, later the wife of Michael Corleone, she is played by Diane Keaton. She never fit into that whole Italian family thing. But I think, that’s what the authors intended with this character.

The sole horseman of apocalypse

This Thursday John Bolten was guest on the Daily Show. John Bolten was the former US ambassador at the UN. The topic of the interview was, how the USA should act because the Iran is trying to get the a-bomb. His idea of handling this problem is, to send Israel to bomb the uranium enrichment facilities or what ever with a “surgical” strike. Then the US government should and should have support the Iranian dissidents, so that they then could overthrow the Iranian government after such a possible air strike. In my opinion, that is not only wrong, but right out stupid!

The black sheep?

This is about the U.S. President. In the last few month, there was a lot of news covering about him. Of cause this is, because he ran for the Democratic President candidacy and later for U.S. President. He won, he won with a simple concept “Yes we can.” and “Change”. Like every U.S. Presidential Election in recent years, it’s outrunning the previous Election in the aspect of media covering. There are only two real parties and each of them tries to throw as much dirt as possible at the opponent. The days when the political agenda of one candidate was the reason for is election are long over. In to days world, its almost solely about the person. The media want it’s share in it and compete in the segment of “how can we embarrass the other parties candidate at most”. Because the media is not above party lines as they should be, they are first on the front line.

Bad apples and good apples

It is already somewhat late so I will try to keep this short. Some years ago I bought an Apple IPod G3(I guess) with 30 GB. I really like my IPod it is now 3.5 years old. I mean the earplugs died after an half year, but okay. Then after 2 years the battery became somewhat weak… yeah that was expectable… half an year ago I threw it during the sync  process from my desk, after that the HDD died everytime when I tried to store some files bigger then 300 MB… but it still plays music. So, even considering that I used the IPod really often as mobile HDD and I lost this functionality now… it plays still music. When I take my bike and drive to work I listen to my Ska, Punk, Rock, whatever…

The secret conspiracy of the green firewall

With this post I like to mention something I noticed on this weekend. Don’t take it too seriouse though.

Because it is the year of the upcomming Bundestags election, all parties are throwing in their funny statements of what the will do now to protect and serve the people. For example a few weeks ago the German Federal Minister of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth Ursula von der Leyen initiated a bill to block child pornography for german internet users. Mrs. Minister, the proud owner of seven childs herself, came, out of a sudden, to the conclusion that the turnover for child pornography, in the internet and because of the internet, had spiked in the last years.

Betting on dead horses…

Three weeks ago, I was watching Boogie Nights. The only reason I was watching this movie was Rollergirl aka. Heather Graham. However, in one scene you saw the room of Eddie Adams aka. Dirk Diggler, played by Mark Walhberg, and on his door hung a poster of a move with Al Pachino. I have never seen this poster before but it was fascinating, it looked like Pachino was playing Che Guevara. He had a full grown beard, wild hair and he looked somewhat tired. The poster said “Serpico”. I have never heard from this move. Actually, that doesn’t mean anything, cause my memory of things is somewhat bad, as you will find out in a few seconds.

My way to world leadership

This “news” is already somewhat old, but I am eager to tell you, so I do it anyway. It was in the year 2008 and I was attending the meeting of the SPD-Ortsverein Dresden-Strießen. On this day, my future was going to change for ever. Like on every other day of my life… but hej you know what I mean. It was the day of to set up the candidate list for the upcoming election to the Dresden city council. Each party can set up a list with nine candidates per election district. My Ortsverein is in charge of two election districts. After filling the list with volunteer candidates there where two places left. I wasn’t sure to which city my future will lead me, so I didn’t volunteer. But the list had to be filled with people and as tough Parteisoldat and a bit convincing of my comrades I toke the place. After all it was just the ninth position.

A few weeks later, the local party conference had to approve the lists of all twelve voting districts and in addition to that the list of delegates for the Landtags election and the Bundestags election which are both to come in 2009 (on two different dates… wtf?). But after a long day and countless crosses on voting ballot paper I was finally confirmed as candidate. I got somewhat around 90% which was not that good in compare to the most other people, but I was in.

Unfortunately my fears came true. I had to leave Dresden in the spring of 2009 to start my internship at Honda Research Institute, which is located in Offenbach. Therefor I was not really able to help with the election campaign. The election day was the June, 7th and it was also the day of the election for the European Parliament and I was proud of seenig the draft of the ballot paper with my name on it.

But as we know now, it was a black day for social democracy and other left-wing parties all over in Europe. Not that bad for the SPD in the city council of Dresden cause we got 1% the CDU still gained 3.5% which is incredibly unbelievable when you take a look at their local “work”… By its absurdness only overrun by the result of the FDP which gained 5% (from 7% to 12%), a party whose clientele was accountable for the financial crisis… but hey why not vote for them, maybe they learned something from their doing? NO THEY DON’T!!! They would do it again and they will do it again…

But the most important result, of course, was my result. But that didn’t look that good too. Eventually I got 124 votes! which was the worst result for any candidate in my voting district, I believe it was even the worst for any SPD candidate. But hey, the good side is, I got 124 votes! How many could I get when I even fight for them?

So as conclusion I will say this. A new star is born and will rise up! maybe… ;). What will the future bring for me, will I gain the world leadership and bring a new age of peace and wealth upon mankind, will I lead the humanity in the abyss of dome and destruction or will nothing of this happen? We will see!
